How did the idea form?

For anyone who has ever brought a working-line puppy into their lives, you’ll know it’s no small task keeping them entertained. They have endless energy and always seem to need something to do. Our dog Rory was one of those puppies—and as first-time dog owners, we were absolutely not prepared!

This dog, beautiful and the best boy ever, had some serious energy and no idea where to put it. Being a GSD × Border Collie × Labrador mix, his brain was always “on,” and he couldn’t quite figure out how to use it.

We quickly realised that no matter what we tried, we just couldn’t drain his energy tank—and, to be honest, some of the things we were doing were actually teaching bad habits, which we only learned later. With the help of an amazing trainer, Anthony (buttonsandleash.co.uk), we learned how to guide Rory toward positive outlets for all that energy. Over time, he discovered how to channel his drive into enrichment activities and gradually became a more well-rounded, balanced dog.

We wanted to share some of our experience with you, along with a few products we’ve adapted that have truly helped us over the years.
